Despite an unsuccessful Kickstarter late last year, Pocket Rumble is back at it on the crowdfunding front. The 2D fighter draws inspiration from SNK games on the Neo Geo Pocket, and will actually be headed to the Neo Geo Pocket Color as a free ROM.Its primary platform is PC, with Mac, Linux, PS Vita, and Nintendo 3DS ports if stretch goals allow. What makes Pocket Rumble stand out from other retro-style 2D fighting games is its focus on simplicity and strategy, over expert dexterity. The developers at Cardboard Robot Games hope to create a system that minimizes the amount of memorization and perfect combo execution required to play the game, while still maintaining a level of mechanical depth.

3、Astrogon is a striking looking arcade game that's available now for iOS and Android. It takes place in a synth-wave universe with a pretty, neon-coloured graphical style and possesses gameplay that promises to be easy to learn but hard to master. In Astrogon you will play as a bouncy cube that will have to jump from wall to wall throughout each level until you reach the exit and get teleported off to the next stage. The catch is, the cube can only touch areas that match its current colour. For example, if it's red you won't be able to touch a blue platform and vice versa.Facebook lets set to start rolling out asynchronous multiplayer games on its messenger platform. So not only will you be able to send gifs and emojis, but play with friends through the app.The games are going to be called Instant Games, and King.com already has one in a sort of soft launch in New Zealand. It's a pared down version of Shuffle Cats, and King isn’t the only dev working on the platform.Big Viking is also working on something, although quite what that is we don't know yet. We do expect the dev tools required to build the new games will be available later in the month. It’s certainly an interesting move on Facebook's part, but it'll be intriguing to see whether devs can make games that we're actually going to want to play within the confines of the app we use to tell each other we can't be bothered to go out.
