Night in the Unpleasant House is an upcoming interactive novel from Unmapped Path. If you're not familiar with that developer fear not, this is their first gaming endeavour. The team itself is made up of Joel Haddock who has handled the writing and illustrations whilst the game has been coded by Chris Klimas, who you may know as the creator of Twine.

It's not too surprising then that Unmapped Path's first gaming venture would be a non-linear, interactive narrative title then. In fact, it will be using Klimas' Disbound platform, which allows people to make mobile games with Twine. The game is set to release for iOS at some stage during this month, though there's no set date locked in just yet.

Night in the Unpleasant House itself will tell a story that dabbles in local politics, revenge, loss and even pseudoscience. Your father passed away 10 years prior to the events of the game after discovering a dark secret about his boss, who also happens to be the Mayor of the town. So you decide to get closer to the Mayor to discover the location of his house, where his enemies frequently mysteriously vanish or return completely incoherent.

Weak sights their sickly radiance do amend;
We’ve been keeping a close eye on Ninja Chowdown recently. The flashy graphics, pun-filled writing and fast-paced auto-running gameplay has held our interest since it initially caught our attention earlier this year, and it’s out today on iOS devices.

Ninja Chowdown is about Donatsu, a ninja hero who loves doughnuts, trains at the Dough-jo, and is called to action after the recent theft of the “Know-nut”, the Doughnut of Ultimate Knowledge. The game has you playing as Donatsu as he runs and jumps through city streets, utilising shuriken stars to fight his enemies as he goes, and scoffing pink-iced doughnuts that fills a metre on the screen. Once this has filled up he grows considerably in size, using his mass to body slam anyone who stands in his way.

You should watch the trailer below which we also highlighted during our recent Pocket Gamer LaunchPad, showing glimpses of a boss stage against the formidable Sushi Sam, who Donatsu is pursuing for the Know-nut. The game will test your patience and your timing as your dodge and shuriken-throwing skills require exact precision to lead to succession.

Wraithmind is an upcoming turn-based RPG from independent developer Alex Timbro, also known as TEKO. The game is currently available for PC where it's in Early Access but it's also slated to be heading for iOS and Android at a later date.

Wraithmind starts aboard a space laboratory after a young woman named Maia awakens on this ship to discover she has an array of unusual abilities. The story will take you through a variety of locales that includes other spaceships and alien ruins as embark on a journey to discover the origin of Maia's newfound powers.
The Home Street game will offer you a dynamic nature of gameplay that will keep you engaged & never give a dull moment. Though the play is convenient and does not pressurize the users in any way to outperform, still, there are stages when resources & goods are scarce that may hinder the progress of your construction process. So most of the challenges will take place within the realistic house designing simulation.
When Super Mario Maker first launched we knew the possibilities of its level design would show us how creative people could be. Now someone's gone a step further by recreating the original Super Mario Land.

Snapped up by Eurogamer earlier, YouTuber KHAce managed to recreate levels from the original 1989 release. Granted, not everything was possible to recreate within Super Mario Maker, but thanks to a few professional edits and a brilliantly incorporated classic soundtrack, you can't really bring yourself to care.

Of course we love seeing levels in Super Mario Maker that'd make a gamer want to cry in frustration or potentially break their own devices in half, but it's times like this, and efforts like these, that really stand out.

Check out the video below. It's a long one but it's seriously cool.

A CHARGER, feeling the infirmities of age, was sent to work in a mill instead of going out to battle. But when he was compelled to grind instead of serving in the wars, he bewailed his change of fortune and called to mind his former state, saying, "Ah! Miller, I had indeed to go campaigning before, but I was barbed from counter to tail, and a man went along to groom me; and now I cannot understand what ailed me to prefer the mill before the battle." "Forbear," said the Miller to him, "harping on what was of yore, for it is the common lot of mortals to sustain the ups and downs of fortune."
