Badlanders, the competitive survival looter shooter from NetEase Games has entered open beta testing today on iOS and Android.

The game opened for registration late last month and has now seen over five million players sign up worldwide. Starting from today, anyone who logs in to the server between 23rd October and 30th October can claim their exclusive benefits.

These rewards include: a Combat Pack (AK + three-level Armour) in Helmet (AK & LV. 3 Helmet), a Scope Pack set, a 8888 in-game Cash & Exclusive Avatar: Warriors Assemble, and a Reaper T-shirt.

You and 24 other badlanders enter the battlefield, taking each other on to strip each other of their loot, or slowly building up an arsenal from chests scattered around the map. But be careful not to get distracted as you need to get all the loot out in one piece.

The game also involves you collecting and customising in-game items that you scavenge from the battlefield, allowing you to self-build weapons according your own tastes and trade them with others. You can instead take this gear out onto the battlefield to use yourself, but the stronger it is the more attention you might attract.

It should be noted Badlanders’ open beta does not include Belgium, Taiwan, Vietnam and Mainland China as eligible regions to participate, while the open beta in South Korea will only be available on iOS.

Badlanders is published by NetEase Games, a developer and publisher that has partnered with Blizzard Entertainment and Mojang AB in the past, and continues to support the growth of innovative studios around the globe.

You can download Badlanders and check out the open beta from the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android. It's free-to-play and contains in-app purchases.
Read our list to discover more of the best shooters available on iPhone and iPad.The goodly objects which abroad they find

NBA Ball Stars: Play with your Favorite NBA Stars(Mod Menu)
Tower Keepers is a deep and strategic free to play auto RPG by ninjakiwi that's heading to iOS and Android within the next two months.

If you've played Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes or Dungeon Boss, you pretty much know what to expect here. You'll build a squad of fantasy heroes, equip them with upgradable gear and skills, then throw them into battle against various nasties.

As you can expect, battles are automated but you can tap on a specific enemy to get your units to focus on it and choose when to use their soul skills. These are incredibly powerful abilities that can completely change the course of battle.

You can craft equipment and collect new active and passive skills as loot drops. All of these can be upgraded to increase your stats, which is also achieved by levelling up your heroes.

Heroes also have a star rating, which you can increase by collecting specific items as loot drops. This drastically improves your heroes' soul skills.

Aside from a lengthy story mode which currently includes six campaigns and 80 levels (each of which has three levels of difficulty), there's PvP and daily and monthly challenges.

The PvP involves building your own multi-levelled tower and equipping it with a bunch of different craftable defences, monster units, and heroes. An opponent player will then try to assault your tower and will earn rewards if they successfully take out your defences and reach the top of the tower.

Meanwhile, you and your heroes will earn rewards based on how successfully your tower defends against them. You can also raid enemy towers and earn rewards if you take out their defences.

Then there's the catacombs which provides a daily challenge, and the wizard's tower which provides a monthly one. The catacombs is a raid through a challenging dungeon which rewards you with loot if you manage to make it to the end.

Meanwhile, the wizard's tower is a lot more challenging and can only be completed once daily. Depending on how well you perform, you'll increase in rank and earn huge rewards at the end of the month when it resets.

Tower Keepers is free to play, so you can expect an energy system - though it's pretty innovative. You own a feast hall which constantly provides your heroes with food, which you expend when you enter a level.

You can upgrade this feast hall to produce and store more food, which allows you to achieve much more each day. However, if you don't have much time to play, you can spend all of your food in one fell swoop for massive rewards.

Tower Keepers is all set to launch within the next two months on iOS and Android, and will include 30 heroes to collect and send into battle and more to follow in later updates.

Nintendo have a long history with VR, jumping into virtual reality with both feet all the way back in 1995 with a 3D virtual reality console called the Virtual Boy. It was truly ahead of its time.

Unfortunately, it was too far ahead of its time and gave most customers headaches and severe virtual reality sickness. So it sank largely without a trace, a punchline to a thousand jokes.

Luckily, this underdog story (because I'm decided it's an underdog story, involving Nintendo and their poor unloved Virtual Boy headset) has a positive twist in the tale.

The-King-of-Spain, sadly the name of a redditor and not an actual Spanish monarch, has created a Virtual Boy emulator for Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard which makes the games not just playable, but enjoyable.

He took to Reddit to share his thoughts: "After about 30 minutes of play time, I'm not experiencing any of the Virtual Boy's trademark motion sickness.

There's also something to be said for playing the games in grayscale instead of the headache-inducing red," he wrote. If you want to try it yourself, and you've actually got the console and games you want to play to cover yourself legally, he's provided detailed instructions in his Reddit post.

"I don't think veils are usually worn with any but white dresses," admitted Anne, "but that is merely a convention; and I am like Mr. Elliott, Miss Cornelia. I don't see any good reason why you shouldn't have a veil if you want one."
"Was Persis Leigh beautiful?" asked Anne.
